You are my sunshine Kalimba tab

You are my sunshine is a complete classic, it has been performed by various artists such as Johnny cash, the beach boys and more. The song is also known as a kids lullaby due to the positive nature of the lyrics. The song itself first came to popularity in 1939 and was later declared one of the state songs of Louisiana due to its association with a country singer named Davis, who became the state governor from 1944 to 1948.

Due to its popularity, the song has been recorded so many times that it became one of the most commercially played hits in American music. Davis and Mitchell were originally credited for writing the song, however, Davis never actually claimed authorship himself. Instead, he purchased the song from the singer Paul Rice and put his own name as the author.

No matter who wrote the song, there is no arguing it is one of the best known songs in history. It’s fantastic for individuals who are just starting out, being played at a slow pace whilst also being relatively easy. It’s extremely relaxing and can be played at any skill level or age, allowing you to teach both yourself and your children how to play. For reference, here is a video of me playing the song on a coconut thumb piano so that you can hear what the track sounds like. When you're confident, play along with me!
