The Habibi daf drum is a professional grade Persian frame drum that has a solid wood frame with metal rings inside. This drum was created in the habibi workshop in Turkey and has synthetic fur and has a diameter of approximately 54cm. It is a lightweight instrument weighing around 800g. The Daf drum Pro contains a unique synthetic skin that mimics the sound and feel of a traditional drum.
The synthetic skin is designed with tiny, nearly invisible elevations that replicate the varied surface structure of natural animal skin, ensuring exceptional sound quality and long-lasting enjoyment. It comes with a convenient soft case. The Daf is not only featured in Sufi music but is also commonly played at various festivals and ceremonial events. Its percussive sound can range from soft and subtle to rich and powerful. This range is achieved through numerous small metal rings attached to the inside of the frame, which occasionally strike the drumhead during play. The frame represents plant life, and the rings denote the mineral realm.
